All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Rural Business
Campaign win!
We designed a comprehensive report to inform stakeholders on the issues around the lack of 4G mobile phone coverage in rural areas affecting farmers, landowners and businesses. The report was supported by social media graphics.
More than 40 MPs from the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Rural Business sent the report to Ofcom (11 March 2019) to highlight the need for annual monitoring of mobile operators’ commitments on increasing rural 4G mobile coverage.
The cross-party group, chaired by Julian Sturdy MP, welcomed the government’s announcement in October 2019, that a deal has been struck.
This will see the four biggest UK mobile networks – EE, O2, Three and Vodafone, invest up to £1bn into tackling so-called ‘not-spots’. which are rural areas that have little to no signal at all.
A fantastic result for the campaign!
